Roses

My parents' anniversary was a while ago.  One of them gave the other roses, and I decided to take pictures of them.  Here are a couple.

I thought those were beautiful, and so I ended up taking more, but a few days later.  Here's how those came out.

Snow

I've always loved the snow.  I've only been in serious snow two or three times in my lifetime and I would really enjoy living somewhere where it snowed more often.  On Tuesday night this week, something amazing happened.  It started to sleet.  I was more than excited and snapped these pictures for the blog.  I have a cheap digital camera, so it takes a while to get a picture with crisp focus, and since it was below freezing, I didn't get any extraordinary ones, but here they are.

This is one of the few blooming flowers we had that day.  It was 81 degrees that afternoon, and then it froze and we got sleet that night.

This is the bench of our picnic table.  It made for a nice picture.

This is a walnut that was on the ground.

And this is my feet on our deck.

Then, at eleven fifteen, after I had gone to sleep, one of my roomates woke me up and told me that it was snowing outside!  I got so excited.  It was snowing huge snowflakes, and I decided to take a few more pictures.  Here they are.

This plant is a "Surprise Lily."  It isn't in bloom though.

The next morning, I took some more.  This is my icy roof.

I like this little bird's nest.

Astronomy

Last night at around 8:30, the Moon,

were very close together, forming a conjunction.  I, being interested in astronomy, thought this was fascinating, so I decided to blog about it.  Here is a picture I took of it.

The brighter star on the bottom is Venus, and the dimmer star is Jupiter.  My camera has a very low shutter speed at night, and it made the conjunction look dimmer than it actually was.  It won't happen again until 2052, so I'm glad that I got a picture.  Hope you were as intrigued as I was.

Hi.

I've always thought that Photography was fun.  So I decided to take advantage of my new camera, and start.

This is the first floral picture of many to come.  These next few are a few samples of the pictures I've taken in the previous few months.

Let me know what you think. Maybe I'll post more.

Thanks,
Mopho
